The various components of an inductive power transfer system need to be embedded in a precise position and geometry for efficient inductive power transfer. These compo-nents need to be arranged so that the electrical components carry out their intended in-ductive power transfer function and provide a road surface for vehicles to travel on. The material of the pavement needs to protect the electrical components from the traffic loading and environmental conditions and also be durable for its function as a road. The problem is solved by installing these components make up a power transfer system in a precast pavement slab which typically would be constructed from concrete.
The invention has the following advantages:
-allows the precise fabrication of the inductive power transfer system in a controlled envi-ronment .
-the fabrication will not be adversely affect by bad weather and unprecise work which is typical of insitu workmanship.
-ensures quality checks can be carried out on inductive power transfer system compo-nents and pavement.
-allow a series production of the system.
-precast slabs allow rapid onsite installation.
-minimises disruption to traffic flow and road closure duration with rapid installation .
-ensures a monolithic pavement structure with a single application of the pavement ma-terial surrounding the components for greater slab durablity and service life.
-precast system can be fabricated in factories in accordance with system specification and instructions around the world.
-precast inductive charging pavement slab can be delivered to the installation site with a truck and lifted into place for immediate comissioning and operation.Other inventors -

This solution will have the advantage that it will be possible to roll over the system with all types of vehicles, and most particularly heavy loaded vehicles. The device detecting the metal will be protected and its service life can be ensured with this invention.
